Sébastien Jean is a French photographer based in Amsterdam whose work explores the subtle tensions and fleeting moments of everyday life in public space. Working primarily in street photography, he is drawn to quiet interactions and atmospheres that suggest stories without fully revealing them.

Having lived in five countries, his practice is shaped by a constant movement between cultures and cities. This experience informs a sensitive approach to observing how people occupy and move through urban environments. His photographs often emphasize distance, ambiguity, and emotional undercurrents, inviting viewers to slow down and construct their own interpretations of the moment.

Sébastien’s work has been exhibited internationally in cities including Tokyo, New York, Lisbon, Berlin, Mexico City, Buenos Aires, and Amsterdam.

He is also the co-founder of WORLDWIDE STREETS, a non-profit platform dedicated to supporting and promoting contemporary street photography through exhibitions, zines and community initiatives.
